Dave’s Diary
Anybody who knows me…
Or my story knows I’ve had plenty of problems with policy. But any reasonable person must understand the value of police.
It’s funny (not) that people have been making police the criminals. They tend not to be criminals.
There must be solutions, but solutions don’t include weakening the police.
Guns suck, but they are necessary. Still, there may be better solutions.
Open discussion.
My friend, Randy White…
Is working on what I believe is going to be a compelling documentary about his life married to a bipolar person who eventually killed herself. I was actually there for a good portion of it.
Check out this local news clip and the trailer below.
Documentary ‘Bipolar’ focuses on Portland family’s struggle with mental illness
Constructing Hope Leveling the Playing Field Campaign – JULY 7-24, 2020
Constructing Hope is a cause very near and dear to my heart. They educate people of color, the formerly incarcerated and low-income adults in the trades. Two of those things applied to me back in 2001 when I was given a chance to learn a trade while incarcerated for my 4th time. That opportunity was transformative, and contributed to all of the successes that came later for me. When I discovered Constructing Hope, I knew I had found the perfect way to “give back”. I have committed substantial resources to help this incredible cause, and I invite you to join me. A gift of any amount will help Constructing Hope to continue their work to Level the Playing Field, and put people to work in the trades.

Second Chances | Recovery Radio
Someone once said there are no second acts in Americans lives, meaning there are no second chances. Dave Dahl is proof that this pessimism is often very wrong. There are indeed second chances and Dave joins us with his remarkable story of mental illness, substance abuse, crime and punishment and how, given his second chance, he turned his life around. Dave Dahl, the creator of “Dave’s Killer Bread” joins us on this edition of Recovery Radio. Content Provided by Retreat Behavioral Health.
I really enjoyed guesting on this local podcast, Right At The Fork, with Chris Angelus. We get pretty deep. It was pretty long, so it’s being released in two parts.
