We at Choose Local Media here in Portland

have built a podcast studio and platform (a work in progress) called, TalkCastPDX (talkcastpdx.com).

My own podcast debut is imminent. It’s called, Against the Grain. If you have a strong network for promotion and have a great personal story that you would like to tell, I want you for one of my early guests—please send me a message and tell me why you’re a top candidate for this (many have already contacted us, and I am sifting through these messages to find those who fit the bill for my first ten shows).

Here is a preamble idea that I have. Let me know what you think—all feedback, including possible edits, is welcome:

“This show is about Innovators and fighters. Folks who have overcome the haters and the roadblocks that discourage average people. How do they do it? My first win was finding freedom while I was in prison. You can find my story at davedahl360.com. This show is about others’ unique stories that inspire hope and motivation because they have learned to be winners—all of whom have done it by going against the grain.” This will be superimposed over my instrumental song:

Last year I posted about Constructing Hope…

and executive director Pat Daniels, introducing folks to an organization that checks all the blanks for me. They teach people what they need to get started with a meaningful career, which is huge, because their success at placing people in construction-related apprenticeship programs is very high.

Last year, due to the virus, they were crippled because due to the inability to run their program they couldn’t get the grants they needed to survive. when I heard this, I was compelled to make a $50K loan, and then I doubled it. By the end of the year, my donation was dwarfed by corporate donations, and now CH is on fire! Watch this video from last summer and then visit the website for more info.

TalkcastPDX is the name of our newly launched podcast platform.

I’m oh-so-close to debuting my own show, Against the Grain. I’ll be interviewing successful people who got there the hard way, kinda like me.

I’m seriously considering a portion of the attached song (which I wrote in 2005 but updated in 2009 or 2010 with producer Michael Rizzo) to open the show under introductory words. Check out the song and video, and subscribe to my YouTube if you like (I would appreciate it!).

What do you think?

We are moving forward with our endeavor, TalkcastPDX

Which will be a free-speech (no agenda) podcast platform. My show will be called, Against the Grain, and will focus on overcomers and go-getters. I’ve actually been a little surprised at the response to my post asking for stories – there are so many good ones. So I know the show is gonna rock.

I recently was a guest on one of the other shoes that’s already featured on our platform, Citizen Smith. Check it out here:

I’ve had an incredible response…

from my latest post in which I asked for interviewees for a new podcast I’m doing called Against the Grain. Seems there are a lot of great stories of overcoming out there.

Please be patient and understand I’m a little overwhelmed. I didn’t see this coming. But I’m super encouraged that this show is going to rock!

TalkcastPDX is here.

I’m involved and I totally believe. Doesn’t matter your political trip cuz honestly, can we just say what’s on our mind?

This ain’t FOX and it ain’t CNN. No agenda, baby. Let’s figure some shit out.

An interview with Dave Dahl, former owner of Dave’s Killer Bread, talks openly about his personal struggles of the past, and his life today, and future plans

Listen Here

Prison, drug addiction, recovery and the owner of a multi-million dollar bread company, Dave Dahl has experienced it all, and discusses it all in this in-depth, no holds barred interview. Have a Happy Easter!!

I’m looking for people who have struggled mightily and have overcome.

In other words, great stories. If you feel that you can handle an interview for such a podcast (it’ll be called, Against the Grain), please contact me.

Please understand… there are a lot of us. So use the contact form on the home page or message me on facebook so I can manage the responses.
